Verona has started the season with a bottom bracket in Serie A with three defeats.
The incident prompted Verona to sack Di Francesco, who had just replaced Ivan Juric in the summer.
Tudor has returned to work in the Italian top-flight again. After being a team coach of Andrea Pirlo at Juventus last season. and signed a contract until 2022
He has had experience in charge of Udinese twice, first from April 2018 to June 2018, then back in March to November 2019, for a total of 25 games.
The ex-Croatia international played for Italy with Juventus and Siena from 1998 to 2007, before hanging up with Hajduk Plit in 2008.
Tudor was also the right-hand man of Igor Stimac in the Croatia national team.
